Match | Te Puna Taurite
Recently launched by Philanthropy New Zealand | Tōpūtanga Tuku Aroha o Aotearoa, Match | Te Puna Taurite (MTPT) is an innovative new service to help both those seeking and distributing philanthropic funding in Aotearoa New Zealand. Its vision is a more equitable, accessible and collaborative funding system. It aims to more easily connect those with funds to those that seek them.
Fundseekers will be able to post funding requests to get in front of multiple funders with one action. There will also be additional support for sectors of the population who are currently underserved by philanthropy such as Māori, rainbow, disability, Pasefika, refugee, and new migrants.
Funders can choose to be alerted to opportunities when they arise or search for them at a time of their choosing. MTPT will enable funders to connect with each other in a way that’s never been possible before, opening new collaboration and co-funding possibilities.
One of the change strategies adopted by the J R McKenzie Trust under Te Anga Rautaki is to strengthen collaboration and support collective action. In recent years, we’ve been glad to be involved in various partnership funding relationships and are very happy to support this innovative project and see it come to life through a collaborative approach. With our Weave partners, (Todd Foundation; Tindall Foundation; Hugh Green Foundation; D V Bryant Trust; Len Reynolds Trust; Lindsay Foundation; and Wayne Francis Charitable Trust), we are looking forward to seeing what Match | Te Puna Taurite can achieve.
