Funding Priorities
Te Pou Māori funds organisations that fit with the following four priorities, and where Māori constitute at least 80 percent of the leadership/governance of the organisation.
1. Mana Motuhake
Māori succeeding as Māori / Successful Māori Models / Māori-led initiatives
Support ngā kaikōkiri to develop new and known Indigenous solutions or practices that address issues of social justice and advances equity and inclusion
Systems focused solutions which include shining a light on what works well e.g., Successful Māori and other Indigenous models, and learn what the levers of achievement are to replicate that
Transformational change at all levels – whānau, hapū and iwi – led, political and institutional change
2. Intergenerational Leadership
Succession / Māori Leadership Models / Skills and knowledge
Grow rangatahi/hapū/iwi/hapori leadership. Enable community voices and stories to inform solutions
Support ngā kaikōkiri to develop new and known (Indigenous) solutions or practices that address issues of social justice and advance equity and inclusion
Develop hapori, hapū, iwi of practice to share knowledge to achieve impact
3. Innovative Ventures and Solutions
Entrepreneurship / Data Sovereignty
Support hapū, iwi, hapori Māori innovation, voice, and leadership which could be achieved through collective action. Support hapori to trial ideas with potential to enhance wellbeing and mana through entrepreneurial initiatives
Support changemakers, disrupters and influences to advance their skills, capacity and influence
Advancing equity through the collection of data/evidence particularly in the funding sector
Transformational change to support and advocate for data provided by ngā kaikōkiri to have ownership of their data
4. Collective and Collaborative Action
Strengthen collaboration and support collective action by connecting and supporting with relevant funding networks, building coalitions and partnerships that enables our systemic thinking and action.
Support more connected (regionally, nationally, and globally) and collective funding occasions to influence best practice funding and delete barriers for Māori and others to access equitable financial support.

Te Kāhui Rangatahi are a small collective committed to supporting the aspirations of Rangatahi Māori in Aotearoa.
It supports rangatahi-led initiatives that advance equity by focusing on:

Strengthening rangatahi sense of culture, language and identityLeadership
Building rangatahi leadership that is grounded in te ao MāoriInnovative ventures and solutions
Supporting rangatahi to test new ideas
Grants up to $30K can be made through Te Kāhui Rangatahi. If you have a rangatahi-led initiative that you’d like to discuss, please fill out the form below. (Please note that we don’t fund ongoing programs or services.)
